I am about to buy a pretty cool 86 chevy c-10. It is going to be a daily driver. It has the stock 305 v8 in it now (carb) which is emission controlled. I want to strip everything off of it to have that bare bones look. Also who knows, maybe I might want to put a crate 350 in it down the road. The point is is that I dont want to deal with the emissions. I have read on Penndot's(Philly) website that I can register it as a "classic" (any car over 25 years old) and it will not be subject to emission controls. However, if it is registered as a classic there are restrictions on how much you can drive it. It states some things like primarily on weekends to auto shows, car clubs and things like that. It says you can use it as transportation once a week. I am thinking I can just register it as a classic, drive it as a daily driver, and just do what ever it takes. Does that sound like a good idea? Or is there a better way folks with custom daily drivers do it?
Any suggestions anyone?
