I am looking at buying a 2007 Silverado, this truck has just 400 miles on it and has the Duramax engine. This is the newer body style with all the newer emissions as it was in late 2007. I am a little concerned about this engine being the first run for that year. Does anyone have any info as to how good this engine is or if they have heard of any problems, also what kind of fuel mileage I could expect.

Is it the newer bodystyle or the "classic" bodystyle? Both were sold as '07s. My suggestion would be to get the classic style, as it has the LBZ Duramax, which does NOT have a DPF (diesel particulate filter) and is generally easier to tune for more power, if you're so inclined. Unloaded, expect about 15-20 mpg, and towing/hauling, between 11-14. My experience with these engines is fuel economy typically improves the more they break in.

The chevy truck would be a great choice, the Duramax engines are designed to be good.  I'm partial to Chevys myself, but if it's only got 400 miles on it, you shouldn't expect any problems until you do get up around the 100,000 mile range.
