Los Angeles County Lifeguards Go “Green” With Fuel-Efficient Ford Escape Hybrids For Their Beach Patrol Fleet
EVENT: In time for Memorial Day, “the unofficial start of summer,” the Los Angeles County Lifeguards, a division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and Ford Motor Company will announce a new partnership making the Ford Escape Hybrid SUV the “Official Vehicle of Los Angeles County Beach Lifeguards.” Ford will deliver the first 10 of 45 Escape Hybrids, the world’s most fuel-efficient SUV, to the Lifeguard fleet.
This announcement marks a significant environmental step for the Los Angeles County Lifeguards, as they employ the Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) Escape Hybrid to patrol beaches this summer and beyond.
