CAR Magazine Torches The Cadillac Escalade...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAR Magazine, March 2007 Issue
First Drives (page 147)
No delight, not even for rappers. Three words to strike fear into the hearts of Chevy dealers trying to shift Escalades-- Range Rover Sport. When the ugly and ungainly Escalade goes on sale this month it will cost a fraction under 50,000. Footballer money. Yes, you get a lot of metal, but for roughly the same dosh you can get a tasty spec Range Rover Sport with formidable biturbo V8 diesel engine. Which, as bits of metal go, is a nugget of platinum compared to the Escalade's obese spread of lead. It may have a scrap of rap-enhanced appeal across the pond, but in the UK it looks silly. It's overstyled, dull to drive, appallingly packaged and shoddily made. You can't want one.
