Mazda was the world's first and only Wankel engined pickup truck. It was sold from 1974 to 1977 and appears to have been available only in the United States and Canada. Toyo Kogyo (Mazda) made trucks for Ford in the Courier as well as its own Mazda B-Series.

The Rotary's brakes deserve special mention. Without complicated proportioning devices any pickup's brakes are a heavily compromised matter: the rear ones are likely to be overly eager to lock up when the bed is unloaded.

Old Mazda trucks are cool!I have a 1959 D1500, but I feel like I have the only one in North America or the whole world. Is there anyone out there that knows where I can source technical information and common maintenance parts for my truck? Confused

Wow, I didn't even realize working D1500s still existed. I don't have any tech information but best of luck on your Mazda.

Thank you. Even though I had never seen another I always assumed that it was still reasonably common, but apparently not so as I can't seem to find even basic tune up parts.

My D1500 was originaly grey and is a left hand drive export model. I am still looking for parts and info. D1100 bodies are likely the same and T1500 mechanical parts will probably interchange.
