With the influx of more and more crossovers, it is time to ask are they really trucks or cars? I have a Chevrolet Equinox, platform loosly based on the Epsilon which underpins the Malibu, G6, Saab 9-3 and Saturn Vue domestically. The Equinox looks like an SUV and drives like one. It isn't meant for off roading (what SUV really goes off road?) It meets federal regulations for cars (5 mph bumpers, full air bags) yet is classified as a truck according to EPA. Yet isn't a crossover a glorified station wagon with a tall body?

A crossover is a glorified station wagon, nothing more. And ignore those EPA classifications; the Magnum is a "truck" according to them.
