Confused  I have a 2001 dodge 2500 with 190,000 miles. At various times with no consistency, the truck starts to loose power, but recovers like you turn on a light switch after a 5-10 seconds. Occasionally I have to down shift and mash the accelerator to get the motor to jump back into "normal power". No indicator lights come on on the dash panel. Changing out fuel filter and addressing water separator did not help. Can anyone give me an idea where to start?

time for a boost fooler my friend... do you have a programmer on it...? had the same problem with my '00 with just a power puck... BD diesel part # 1515932 connects to the MAP sensor... 10 minute install... about $72.00... good luck..

Thanks floydcummins1,

No progammer! several opinions on what it may be like, the booster sensor kicking in and out. The ask the experts suggested that it was probably the fuel pump going bad. Problem is that the problem may not show itself for several days, then happen several times in an hour. How does the boost fooler work and can you tell me more about how your truck was acting before you corrected it?

mine would run the same way... surge power here and there but nothing you can set your clock to... i would pull out in traffic and it was like i had no turbo what so ever then all of a sudden it was like being programmed and twin turboed... it after some time with the power puck being on there so i really can't hold that to blame... the boost fooler intercepts signals from the MAP sensor before it gets to the computer... i was pulling up a non-lighted code that said the truck was in a over boost condition... no more codes now...
