injector pump on 01 dodge diesel

has anyone ever heard about changing the fuel flow key on a injector pump thats on a 01 dodge diesel I was told you could to make it flow more fuel. I know they sell high proformace injector pumps and was wondering it anybody eles has ever done this or tried it before

after reading that, it didnt talk bout a fuel key, just installing the comp box, im not sure you can change the internals of a VP44, i know you can on the older p7100 pumps on the 12 valves(94-98) though.  
1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 24 valve, 5spd with south bend 550hp+ clutch, 150 horse injectors, Fram Boost intake(for now), Edge Juice with attitude, 150 gph fass fuel pump and much more, all together 450 dyno proven HP and 1170 ft lbs.

I dont think you can change the internals on a VP44 but i also dont know much about the VP44 injection pumps on the 24v.  
2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 cc/sb all stock H4 package.

ive researched a bunch yesterday and the only way you can change the internals of the VP44 is with the right equipment to make sure everything is timed right, you cant even rebuild one yourself because of that or at least thats what everybody i called and email yesterday said, anybody else wanna chime in??

When if it does ever give out I think you can put one from an h.o in.

I'll put another vote in on I've never heard it being done. I called some folks, all say the same. The P7100, yes. I've been doing some research on that myself. But the one on the 24 valve, I think not.  
1996 Dodge Cummins 3500, 5 spd transmission, 4x4, 2" block lift.

Here's what I know about the VP-44. I have never heard of a fuel key. If you want your 44 to flow more fuel you do it through electronics (module). You cannot rebuild a 44 yourself, unless you have a $200,000+ Bosch test bench to calibrate it. The new 44s seem to be very reliable, one of our locals has 300,000+ on his "new updated" 44. Almost everyone says you cannot put a HO 44 on an non HO motor. If your Cummins came with a 025 pump you can't put a 027 or 028 on it, they say it won't run worth a pooh, supposedly many have tried. That said, I have read a blog from one guy that swears he's done it. Remember! the nice thing about electronic pumps like the VP-44 is you can adjust the amount of fuel at a push of a button if your running a nice programmer, something your P-7100 can't do. Also your programmer will de-fuel when your EGTs get to high, your P-7100 with a #10 plate....not so much. Case in point, my friend Mark's '95 12 valve has about the same HP as mine, when running around empty our trucks are evenly matched. Now if we load up the RV's and hit the mountains I can smash the skinny pedal and leave it there, my programmer will give me all the fuel it can without going over 1250 on the pyro. Mark's big black Dodge is now hitting 1400 and he's backing way off the throttle. He gets frustrated because he has 2/3rds of a pedal that he can't use, and I'm leaving him behind. I have also heard that the P-Pumps are not liking this new fuel and are starting to fail, and you don't need that $3500 bill. As far as racing is concerned you can't beat the P-pump. I guess it's all about what you want....
