i would say for sure the cummins, they have proven themselves reliable and capable of tremendous power for years. im not sure which one though.

The 12 valve Cummins with inline mechanical pumps or custom Cummins with altered fuel syst using 24 valve head.
A real toy for big boys.I installed a 5.9-B Cummins, P-7100 inline stage one pump,  banks cooler,5in exh, removable air bags for towing, 1in body lift,2in hanger lift,2 12in elect fans, customized mounting,(eng mounts, intake piping, trans adapter etc) Runs on home made bio-fuel at 70 cents a Gal.

the most power ive seen ever haas come from a cummins, they seem to be indestructible and you can push them to enormous amounts of power.  the most ive seen has been 1300 hp and 1950 ft lbs out of a 24 valve cummins.
1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 24 valve, 5spd with south bend 550hp+ clutch, 150 horse injectors, Fram Boost intake(for now), Edge Juice with attitude, 150 gph fass fuel pump and much more, all together 450 dyno proven HP and 1170 ft lbs.

Cummins still takes the crown as the best motor to build for racing, followed by the Duramax. I've just never really been blown away by the power output of "built" Power Strokes, by and large.

CUMMINS for sure in the sled pullin, its close between the cummins and duramax in the drags though, towing is definately cummins and hp and torque and everything else.  the 7.3s are bad if you got a lot of money to put into them but the 6.0s arent good for anything other than their cool soundin with a straight pipe

My opinion is if you have enough money it doesn't matter what engine you got you can make it turn out some crazy power. If we're talkin no modification to the engine the new LMM D-Max is my choice for all of the above minus the MPG where I would say Cummins has it granted I haven’t tried the new 6.4s so I cant tell you anything there. I would imagine the front suspension on the Chevy's would need modifying as well if you were going sled pullin with the D-Max. As far as drags D-Max has it in spades.
