Infiniti Middle East: Success of Infiniti QX Exemplifies Boom in Mid East Luxury Car Sales

DUBAI, UAE, October 21, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

-Sales of high-end cars in the Gulf region are expected to rise at double the rate of general car sales in 2011, best exemplified by the success of the Infiniti QX SUV in the region -

Demand for luxury vehicles has skyrocketed in Gulf countries in the first semester of 2011, and this trend is expected to continue through the end of the year and into 2012. Infiniti Middle East [http://www.infiniti-me.com ] reported record sales in Q1 of 2011 led by sales of its high-end SUV, the Infiniti QX.

The Infiniti QX is at the forefront of Infiniti Middle East's premium luxury car line-up. Infiniti Middle East launched the Infiniti QX in July 2010, which resulted in 9% segment share in its first year of introduction. The Infiniti QX [http://www.infiniti-me.com/en/homepage.html ] has a 400hp, 5.6-liter performance engine, with extreme 4x4 capabilities. Its Hard Drive Navigation System and Around View(TM) Monitor features promise a luxury driving experience while the 12MY 15-speaker Bose(R) Cabin Surround(R) Sound system, Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system and perforated semi-aniline leather seats ensure a comfortable journey. Although the QX's sales are growing rapidly, the Infiniti FX remains the strongest seller in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE, contributing 29% of Infiniti Middle East's total sales.

The region already has one of the highest percentages of luxury cars in the world with over 50,000 residents owning luxury cars worth a total of 26 billion Dirhams in the UAE alone. Market research experts IHS Automotive are predicting sales of luxury cars [http://www.infiniti-me.com ] will grow a further 20% this year which is more than double the overall rate of 9.7% in the region. The demand has likely been fuelled by profits from oil prices which have reached around $100 a barrel and an increase in the number of high-end vehicles entering the market.

Today, the Infiniti Middle East line-up consists of the premium luxury G Sedan, G Coupe and G Convertible, the EX35 Luxury Crossover, the FX35/50 Performance Crossover, the M37/56 Mid-size Premium Luxury Sedan and the QX56 Full-size Luxury SUV with more vehicles to be added in the coming year.
