HELP  Truck shopping today. Found new still too expensive once loaded up so I looked at lightly used and found 2009 Toyota Tundra 4X4 Double Cab with TRD package 65,000 kms red and 2010 GMC All Terrain 4X4 Extended Cab 6,500 kms white (Traded in today retired GM employee registered 4 Nov 2010). Toyota wants $24,000 and my excellant condition 2003 Nissan Murano. Thats an out the door price all in and I walked out after they refused my $22,000 & Murano. Priced on lot at $25,999 I moved on tho the GM Dealer who wanted $28,999 and the sales managers out the door was $27,800. I'm not sure I want the GMC. I believe that the Tundra in a few short years will loose fewer dollars than the GMC in resale value? Toyota 5.7 6sp Auto GMC 5.3 6sp Auto. Both drive well lots of power and room with 6'6" box. My current truck is a good runner however body wearing down (1993 Chev Extended Cab 305CI Auto 4X2 6'6" box) I've never driven anything with more road stability and power than this Murano nor owned the same vehicle for more than 8 years. The Murano ran at highway plus speeds in any rain snow and dry and never let me down nor cause a ruffled feather on my head (maybe others). I've diegressed from my current dilemma. I'm suspecting that the GMC may go out the door for $26,000. Can anyone help me out here I've being folcused on new with all the incentives and just could not see myself comming up with the big bucks for similarly equiped pickups..........I've got till Monday Morning 24 October 2011. I brought the GMC home for mother to see but she feels as I do that it won't be a Murano. Perplexed in Southern Ontario Canada

Well, all is clear now bought 2011 Tundra SR5 Double Cab with lots of discounts for a little more than the used 2010 GMC. Mother's happy as she is a Toyota fan (happy wife, happy life) Now I've got to add a couple of aftermarket items to personalize this truck and a set of 4 snows. Any suggestions as to where to buy and what to stay away from. Any comments good or bad on Nurf Bar Type Running Boards and Tonneau covers Life is good again

As much as I hate to say it Ford would be the best. I have a dodge truck and it has been in and out of the shop since I bought it. Their customer service sucks too. In general, the Ford's controls are more solid and more communicative than the GMC.

The research you can do on the internet is great. Go to www.autotrader.com I'll tell you once you know what your talking about, and the wholesale price of what your looking for you have the upper hand. The General Managers of the car dealerships make their bonuses on the amount over and above the value of what you want. My 2002 2500HD GMC 4X4 was totaled by some drugged up punk. It was my retirement truck. That truk in 2002 new was $53,000. That same truck today is $65,000. Believe it. So now I'm back to a car...LOL...
Really know the wholesale price and you'll make out.
