Towing with Ram 3500 dually (2004)

I just purchased a light 27 foot fifth wheel and traveling on I40 there are a lot of very harsh bumps that really pound you in the truck. Has any one tried takeing off the overload springs and run that way or added airbags after taking off the overload springs. Trailer pinbox weight is only 1200#.
