HYUNDAI TUCSON AND SANTA FE RECOGNIZED FOR AFFORDABLE INSURANCE

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 06/03/2010 -- Hyundai’s 2010 Tucson and 2010 Santa Fe both received Insure.com’s “Low Cost Car Insurance Award,” extending Hyundai’s value story beyond purchase price, and into the overall cost of ownership.   Insure.com surveyed average rates for more than 2,400 vehicles for the 2010 model year, awarding the 10 least expensive vehicles to insure in each of four categories: Cars, SUVs, Trucks, and Vans.

“When you add the full suite of consumer protection offered under Hyundai Assurance, including our industry-leading warranty, roadside assistance, and job-loss protection program, to the reduced cost of ownership derived from our fuel economy leadership, low maintenance and insurance costs, the Hyundai value proposition has never been stronger,” said Barry Ratzlaff, director of service operations, Hyundai Motor America. “In addition, there’s no doubt that our commitment to standardizing life-saving technologies across our lineup contributes to the favorable insurance rates.”

The 2010 Tucson and 2010 Santa Fe rang in at numbers four and six respectively as the cheapest vehicles to insure in the SUV category.  You can see the full list of award winners at Insure.com.

“Your own personal car insurance quotes are built on a variety of factors, including where you live, your age and your driving record,” said Insure.com editors.  “And when it comes to buying collision and comprehensive insurance, your vehicle choice plays a pivotal role.”

The all-new 2010 Tucson strikes a stark contrast from its predecessor and improves in every functional area, from its roomier cabin with extra cargo space to its leap in fuel economy and technology. Tucson features the company’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language and is the first Hyundai CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) to be designed and engineered in Europe at Hyundai’s Frankfurt-based design and technical centers.

Making its second appearance on Insure.com’s Low Cost Car Insurance list, Hyundai’s 2010 Santa Fe features a revised exterior and new powertrains with six-speed transmission which improve both fuel economy and vehicle performance.  The 2010 model showcases refined design, proven dependability, versatility and an extensive list of standard features.
