Hello,
I am looking for a good truck deal. To elaborate on that, I want a big truck (either a dodge ram, ford f15o, f250, etc., or chevrolet silverado), stickshift, and 4-wheel drive, for less than $6000. I searched online for such a truck, and found very few results that are close to where I live (new mexico).

Anyway, I did find one truck, a ford f150, 1995, for $4995. This truck seems to be in fairly good condition, is 4-wheel drive, standard, extended cab, etc.

My question is concerning the engine: a 5.0L V8 FI OHV gasoline (according to the CarFax report). Is this a good engine, considering that it was made somewhere before 1995? I just wanted to ask this question, before I go and buy it. Oh, and one more thing: the truck has 160, 579 miles on it. Is this a good deal in a truck?

Just wanted to ask before I buy.

Thanks.

I don't recall any major issues with the 5.0-liter V-8. That series did live a long life before it was replaced by the Modular engine. In terms of the deal, I think the price can go a lot lower. I don't know what kind of options the truck has but $5000 is a large sum for a 15-year-old full-size with 161K miles.
