I am new to having a 4WD and it's making a popping sound when I make a slow tight turn while in 4WD, is that normal?  It is find in normal/wider turns and while driving striaght.  Any suggestions?  2005 Silverado extended cab

I am not 100-percent sure, but it could be a CV joint. Unfortunately, suspension/steering systems are not my stronger areas. The noise only occurs in 4WD?

Are you on a hard surface when making the turns, if so the diff could be binding with the sharp turn.

Don't use non-synchronous 4WD unless you are on loose surfaces (dirt, snow, loose gravel). A truck in 4WD run into turns on asphalt (or other hard surface like tightly packed gravel) will strain the drivetrain (eventually breaking motor/transmission mounts and other things). However, these types of repairs usually bring smiles to dealerships and other repair facilities.
