i need some help

i have a 1996 gmc jimmy. i was driving it one done and i lost all power to the car (power steering radio everything)... i had tried to to jump it so it isnt the alternator. i got it into my garage and checked all of plugs and they have spark the fuel pump kicks on when the key is turned forward. the fuel line that runs to the engine is getting gas. the distributor is working fine......... i believe that it could be the crankshaft position sensor i would like a sencond opinion on it incase there is anything else that could be wrong with it before i buy the sensor... i know that it was throwing a code for the o2 sensor wich i did not fix so i would not have known if a different code was thrown for the crankshaft sensor.... thanks in advance for your help KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!!!
