Low Bridges

I have recently had a few close calls with low bridges that could easily have resulted in a bad accident.

Does anyone know of a good GPS system or add on for my Garmin that would give a low bridge warning?

Something like a speed camera POI list could work, but I can't seem to find anything.

Many thanks.

Searching on Google, I have seen a couple different options for your problem, but there really aren't that many and I can't vouch for their effectiveness, unfortunately.

If you'd like a more old-tech way for your problem, each state's DOT web page usually has a list of height/low clearances specifically for truckers that may prove to be useful. Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for your helpful advice.

I have decided to try a POI database that has been recommended to me on several forums.

You can download it at http://www.lowclearances.com

It looks really good.

Thanks again.

Garmin Nuvi 465T is their new system with GPS/Nav which will calculate your hight/weight of the vehicle and any restrictions and route you accordingly.
