GMC / Chevy Savanna /Express All Whell Drive

Hello,
I'm looking into a Chevy/GMC 1500 All Wheel Drive Cargo Van. It would be used on a daily basis, no heavy towing and only moderate loads of 200 or 300 pounds, so nothing heavy. Wondering about the reliability of the vehicle, as well as the fuel consumption. Since I live in Canada, the AWD is a must. How effective is it in the winter time?

Keep up with general maintenance and the van should be plenty reliable. Those loads should be no problem at all. Expect fuel consumption to be from 14-17 mpg. If you're going to be driving a lot in the snow, make sure to get a good set of snow tires. The tires will help more than the AWD. Other than that just watch out for ice!

I bought a 1993 f150 flare side. Iknow it needs new shocks, but the springs are stressed too. I also wnated to know if i could put an exhaust system without a catilatic converter on

If you're going to be driving on the road, you're going to need a cat converter for legal reasons. Of course no one is forcing you to put one on, but when it comes time to smog you won't pass without it.
