2009 Honda Pilot Earns Highest Possible Safety Ratings
Honda Leads Industry With All of Its Light Trucks Featuring the Highest Safety Ratings

TORONTO, Sept. 26 /CNW/ - The all-new 2009 Honda Pilot sport-utility
vehicle has earned the U.S.-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
(IIHS) "TOP SAFETY PICK" and the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration's (NHTSA's) best-possible 5-star crash safety rating for both
frontal and side impact performance.
NHTSA's top safety rating and the prestigious "GOOD" (the best possible)
rating in IIHS Frontal Offset, Side Impact and Rear Crash Protection tests
highlight Honda's leadership in safety technology and occupant protection for
all passengers.

"Honda is honoured to receive these prestigious safety accolades," said
Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "The fact that we
are the only vehicle manufacturer that has the highest possible frontal and
side impact ratings for all of its light trucks underscores our industry
leadership and commitment to safety for the benefit of our customers."

Every new Honda light truck - five vehicles in total - has achieved
NHTSA's 5-star frontal and side impact crash safety ratings since the 2007
model year. Honda's complete line of 5-Star crash safety-rated light trucks
includes the 2009 Pilot, 2008 Honda CR-V, 2008 Honda Element, 2008 Honda
Odyssey, and the Canadian-built 2008 Honda Ridgeline.

Honda is the only full-line brand to ever achieve the highest-possible
side and frontal impact crash safety ratings for every light truck in its
entire lineup. All 2009 Pilot SUVs include Honda's Advanced Compatibility
Engineering(TM) (ACE(TM)) body structure that is designed to further enhance
occupant protection in frontal collisions between vehicles of differing size
and weight.

The 2009 Pilot's standard safety equipment includes Vehicle Stability
Assist(TM) (VSA(R)), commonly referred to as electronic stability control,
with traction control and ABS; three-row side curtain airbags with a rollover
sensor; dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags; a driver's front side
airbag; and a front passenger's side airbag with Honda's innovative occupant
position detection system.

Good thing the new Pilot has at least one thing going for it, because styling sure isn't one of them!  Tongue
