Why is there so much hate for the Toyota Tundra?

You live "in a global village" my friend. I live in the USA. "Ignorance"...just telling it like it is. Who's "nervous", I'm not yelling in my email to you. If it makes you feel good to support a foreign company, and obviously it does, then do it. Did I say they "knowingly" put a weak camshaft in the Tundra? Don't believe I did. The point is there is this "myth" that Toyota builds a "perfect" vehicle and that the domestic companies build inferior products. That is just that, a "myth" and nothing more. I don't talk from listening to commercials or listening to 20 year olds tell me about how much they know about trucks. I have bought, owned, and worked these trucks hard for many years, so I know about how they are built. So quit falling asleep and see the obvious, the Tundra is no better then an American truck, so I ask again, why not support American companies? Why send your money overseas? This is our country, these are our trucks, GM,Ford,Dodge.

I see that Tundra sales are down 60.7% for September. I wonder if it is because of the weakframe, snapping camshafts or poor gas mileage. Probably a combination of the three or maybe just the ugliness of it. It warms my heart to see that Toyota President Jim Lentz has announced that Toyota is throwing in the towel and will no longer be striving for pickup truck supremecy in the USA. He is a smart man. He knows there is no way they can accomplish the supremecy thing with the junk they are currently selling.

So what if the tundra sales drop. If you look at gm and ford, the stock of their company has drop alot more. Their companies sell way less then toyota anyway, and their is a reason for that. The sales of their trucks can CARS are way down

Truck sales suck for everyone. $4 gas is the reason. I have listened to the Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Import arguments for all of my 40 years. I have owned everything but a Dodge. They all make decent stuff, and they all have their pros and cons.
This bullcrap argument about Ford, Dodge, Chevy -- why say something so idiotic. American companies? Yes. American Owned?? Its a corporation, owned by anybody with money to buy the stock. All the manufacturers build and sell in foreign markets, too. WOuld you go to Germany and tell them to buy German? OK, I suppose in light of this logical question you will barf up some idiocy and go back to scratching and NASCAR.
Corporations are worldwide. Your American corporatoins shot and killed American workers who were trying to organize labor. Your American companies, owned by Americans, all opened up plants in Mexico because they wanted higher profits. Your American companies could not give one *** less about you. You are a worker bee, a pawn. You are replaceable.
And when you spout off war time actions, keep in mind America invaded a soverign state and killed its leader. Oh wait, we "liberated" them. We sure as hell are not liberating the Africans being raped, tortured, slaughtered, and treated worse than ants. Maybe if the had OIL we would LIBERATE them next.
American companies can compete with foreign companies, aka Harley Davidson. American CAR companies beat the patriot drum when it benefits them. As in when they have CRAP that nobody wants to buy. Foreign or *** companies did not overtake the American companies by force, American workers bought them. Why? Ever own a mid 80's - 90's Chevy. Remember the J2000 Pontiac. The Vega. The Pinto. The Chevy Citation. Fiero. K-Cars. Well, all Dodge cars for that matter. Crap, crap, crap. Crap. Poor AMERICAN companies being VICTIMIZED by JAPANESE PEARL HARBOR BOMBING sons a b*tches.
Dont want to own foreign???? Show me your true colors by throwing out your TV, Stereo, all you appliances, watches, anything made in China. What do you have left????????? Dont shop at Wal Mart, they are KILLING the US Manufacturers; well actually YOU are when you buy a China made wrench instead of a USA made wrench. You are the worst type of hypocryt. You spit out Buy American but you get the 50 cent cheaper item at Wal Mart. Remember when Wal Mart used to hang banners about MADE IN USA goods? There is your American Company. The moment it suits them, they screw the US companies and get cheap Chinese crap that you buy because its cheaper.
By the way, the next Econimic Stimulus check you get, remember when you are cashing it that the Federal Reserve is a Private Owned bank, not owned by Americans, that the Chinese are funding the loan by purchasing the Treasury notes, and that the crap you buy is made where???? Buy American!!!! Indeed. Go sell crazy someplace else, because I am sure as hell not buying it.

Iowafarmboy, you sure you're from Iowa? You sound more like a MiddleEastFarmBoy to me....so in your eyes buying what little that is still made here is a "bad thing". Is that what your telling us? And oh by the way, I do buy American made tools, I had a Yamaha motor removed from the last bass boat I bought and replaced with a Mercury, I only buy appliances made in the USA, and I never received a Stimulus Check, so this rant is obviously not directed at me. But I'm still wondering what your point is here? All American companies are "bad"?

Chevy smallblock, huh? Yeah, dual-overhead cams and all, Larry...
Smart people drive Toyotas, let the rednecks and ingnoramus drive the American products who can't even seem to stay in business...Have fun trying to get warranty work done when the company doesn't exist anymore.
If you're worried about Japan making money - Its called globalization people, half the *** you own sends money overseas. Including almost every electronic device you own and even the very monitor you are staring at.

Hey materialman - If you knew anything at all you would know that the very isolated and fixed incident of "snapping camshafts" was a casting/manufacturing flaw - NOT a design flaw. Guess what else, the camshafts were casted by American workers here in Indiana, maybe GM/Ford/Dodge are on to something having their vehicles built in Canada or Mexico...

no one brand of truck is a total piece of crap. i've worked in heavy industry most of my life and with the exception of dodge ( which just wasn't reliable )the ford and chevy fleets we've had both have done well. i'm sure for the average homeowner even dodge would do. toyotas have a reputation for being very reliable and noone can really dispute that, its a proven fact. they have their problems off and on just like any other manufacturer but their small trucks are way more reliable than any other manufacturer out there with the exception of some other *** brands. this is according to consumer reports. so even though you may not like it they are good reliable trucks. as far as their tundras if you look in years gone by at the quality problems the big three have had i don't think you can really throw many stones at one of the most reliable automakers out there and like it or not we do live in a global market. the big three are all heavily in foreign automakers and the foreigns are very much invested in the united states. so in the end its all in what you grew up with and what you like to drive. it all boils down to personal opinions.

So driving a Toyota makes you "smart". You know I have heard some stupid statements in my time, but that is right near the top. Maybe you need to drive that Toyota a bit more, the "smart" thing isn't working yet.
You know it's hard for American companies to stay in business when the American public turns their backs on them and supports a foreign owned company. Globalization is crap my friend, it gives people in other countries a better life at the expense of people in this country. Myself, I prefer to help Americans, I don't worry much about Japan and Korea, because I know they don't really give a dam about us, they just want our money. Does that make me a "redneck" and an "ingnoramus"? I guess in your eyes it does, but let me tell you a little secret Son, if driving a Toyota and supporting a foreign company will make me "smart", I'll pass.

read the window stickers on any ford trucks or cars and see what percentage of overall parts are made in america and then do the same research on toyota. just because we all remember back in the day when the big three were all american doesn't mean that times don't change any more than saying the same thing over and over again makes that statement true. in america today there are about as many jobs in manufacturing and support of the foreign car industry as there is in the so called big three so to say that all or even most of the money spent to buy foreign cars somehow goes back to the country of orgin is just not true. whatever truck you or me chooses to drive is very much personal preference. but to claim someone is stupid just because they like a ford or chevy only proves one thing. your losing your argument.
