: Long absent from the pickup truck market, Volkswagen is back -- but not in the U.S. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles released details of its pickup truck design study today ahead of the official unveiling at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show that begins later this week in Hanover, though there's no need to get your preorder in if you live on this side of the Atlantic. When it comes to market, won't be sold Stateside.
If they do bring it to the U.S., would you buy it?

Yes, why not? Always good to try new things.

I believe that is a car with an open trunk, not a truck. We have good trucks built here by GM, Ford, and Chrysler, why would I buy a VW?

Yeah, basically VW's Ridgeline.

It took eons to get four-door mini pickups sold here in the states compared to overseas. Yet, they were welcomed. Instead of making another me-too pickup like the Ridgeline, I would have prefered if VW had offered the T5 Crewcab pickup or even the T5 California (that's the Westfalia Camper Van not sold in California here in the states). Why not build the T5 here in the states to get around the Chicken Tax?
