IS THERE ANY EVIDENCE THAT A MODIFIED EXHAUST AND/OR AIR INTAKE SYSTEM ACTUALLY IMPROVES MILEAGE IN LIGHT DRIVING SITUATIONS (RE:2005 RUBICON UNLIMITED)?

The best evidence you can look for would be from other owners who have done the modifications themselves. Since an exhaust and intake are considered performance products, I doubt there are manufacturer sheets out there documenting gas mileage improvements. Maybe some company will claim an improvement, but not all cars are created equally either.
