Unfortunately, the ban hasn't helped much, according to the results of a study conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In fact, the IIHS says, teenage drivers' cell phone usage went up slightly after the ban. One to two months before the ban, the IIHS study found that 11 percent of teen drivers used cell phones as they left school everyday, while 12 percent were observed to use cell phones some five months after the ban.

Now that the ban has gone into affect for adults in CA, expect the coppers to be scribbling a lot more tickets. They're always hungry for more ticket revenue.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that they didn't write that into the law as well. It's hilarious...almost overnight when the law went into effect here in CA, it went from everybody jabbin' on their phones to almost nobody! I didn't see anyone written up, but I'm sure there were.
