"Imagine the fun," says Dr. James Brighton, the Cranfield University engineer responsible for the remote control Hummer H3. The conversion, which took a month to complete, has yielded a toy that can traverse a 40 percent side slope, climb a 16-inch wall and run in 2 feet of water.

Maybe offering this not-for-sale large toy is just the gesture General Motors needs to smooth relations with environmental activists targeting the SUV brand.
