: According to a new study published by the Urban Institute, the spreading popularity of portable high-tech consumer electronics such as the Apple iPod could be a contributing factor in the nationwide increase of violent crime throughout the Unites States.
FBI crime rates show that statistics in the US experienced a considerable jump in 2005, which ties in with the time that Apple iPod sales increased significantly following the launch of the video-capable iPod, which the study suggests is notable seeing as crime rates had been steadily dropping prior to that point.

Thats not surprise, when ever there is a new "hot" product on the market, crime goes up. Remember when 20" spinners first hit the market and cost over 5k? ya, now you can get them at Pep-boys or Autozone for 100 bucks. lol!
If Apple keep coming out with newer and cooler toys for us to buy, the ones we all have now will become a thing of the past. Just give it a few more months and the iPod i have will not be worth the crime to steal it.
