Ford reaches settlement in Explorer class-action lawsuits
:
More than six years since the last Firestone tire-equipped 2001 Explorer rolled out of the factory, Ford has settled all outstanding class-action lawsuits relating to the rollover scandal, according to a Detroit News report.
The settlement, reached in the Sacramento county Superior Court in California, covers one million owners of 1991-2001 Ford Explorers in California, Connecticut, Illinois, and Texas who can get $500 toward a new Explorer or $300 toward another Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury product, if Sacramento Superior Court Judge David De Alba gives the final approval.
