Chrysler LLC Announces Overall October 2007 U.S. Sales Down 9 Percent as Industry Sales Continue Below Trend Levels
* Chrysler brand car sales rise 7 percent over October 2006; led by Sebring Sedan and Convertible
* Chrysler Town & Country up 26 percent on the success of the new model
* Jeep(R) brand sales down 21 percent year-over-year, driven by planned fleet reductions
* Jeep Wrangler sales increase 8 percent versus last year
* Dodge brand car sales up 18 percent from the same period last year
* Dealer inventory down 8 percent or 469,426 units versus October 2006
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC reported U.S. sales for October 2007 of 145,316 units; down 9 percent compared to October 2006 with 159,586 units sold. All sales figures are reported as unadjusted.
"Growing concerns about the housing slump are showing up in consumers' expectations about future economic conditions as auto sales for the month of October continue below trend levels," said Darryl Jackson, Vice President - U.S. Sales. "Today's company announcement on product changes reflects our customer-driven philosophy and current market conditions."
Chrysler brand car sales were led by Sebring Sedan which posted sales of 5,015 units, up 86 percent versus 2006 and Sebring Convertible which finished the month with sales of 1,856 units, up 837 percent versus October 2006. Chrysler Town & Country sales rose 26 percent to 12,177 units versus October 2006 with 9,668 units.
Jeep(R) brand sales were down 21 percent year-over-year, driven by planned fleet reductions. Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited posted sales of 9,354 units, up 8 percent versus October 2006.
Dodge brand car sales increased 18 percent over last year aided by steady sales of the Dodge Avenger with 6,268 units delivered.
"Given the competitive market, our approach is to provide substantial value to our consumers by offering consumer cash and lease cash on the majority of our 2008 models in November," said Michael Keegan, Vice President - Volume Planning and Sales Operations. "We will also introduce 0% APR for 36 months on 2008 models through the end of the month."
Chrysler finished the month with 469,426 units of inventory, or an 84-day supply. Inventory is down by 8 percent compared to October 2006 when it was at 508,724 units.

Acura Announces October Sales Results
RDX Posts Third Consecutive Month of Record Sales
TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Record October sales of the turbocharged RDX crossover SUV and strong MDX luxury SUV totals pushed Acura light-truck sales to a fifteenth consecutive record breaking month. October RDX sales of 1,937 units, up by 9.5 percent** versus last October, tallied a third consecutive record month while MDX sales continued strong by surpassing October 2006 sales by 426 units. Year-to-date MDX volume reached 47,809 units, up 13.9 percent*.

October sales of Acura sedans was led by the TL performance luxury sedan selling 3,421 units, followed by the TSX with 2,308 vehicles sold in October -- a 0.5 percent increase over last year.

Hyundai Motor America Reports October Sales
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America's popular Santa Fe and Sonata vehicles posted sales increases of 15 percent and 28 percent, respectively, for the month of October. Additionally, the fuel-efficient Accent posted strong sales, up 32 percent over October 2006. Overall, sales for the month were relatively flat at 30,232, compared with 30,479 one year ago.
"We are hopeful the arrival of our 2008 models in showrooms will mitigate some of the uncertain economic conditions in the fourth quarter and sales will improve through the end of the year and build momentum heading into 2008," said Bob Pradzinski, Hyundai Motor America's director, national sales.

Nissan North America Announces October Sales
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales of 84,947 units in October, up 8.8 percent from the prior year. Nissan Division sales increased by 9.8 percent over last year. Infiniti Division sales increased by 1.8 percent versus the prior year.
NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS * Nissan-brand vehicles saw sales of 74,992 units, a 9.8 percent increase on a daily sales rate basis compared with last year's 65,689 units sold. * Altima sales experienced a record October, with sales of 21,778 units marking a 41.9 percent increase over the prior year. Of the total Altima sales, 3,117 units were of the Altima Coupe, which continues its strong performance, and 927 were Altima Hybrid units. * The all-new Rogue crossover in its first full month on the market saw sales of 5,038 units, outpacing expectations.

Kia Motors America Announces Best October Sales Ever

Subaru Reports Record October Impreza Sales

Mitsubishi Reports 15.8% Year-to-Date Increase Through October
CYPRESS, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) today reported October sales of 9,280, virtually unchanged from last year's October volume of 9,288. Calendar year-to-date (CYTD) sales are 115,106, remaining well ahead of the first ten months of last year (99,392), up 15.8% compared to last year's first-ten-months total.

American Honda Reports Record October Sales
Accord, Civic, Fit and Odyssey post largest gains
TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- American Honda Motor *** Inc., posted record October sales of 114,799 Honda and Acura vehicles, surpassing the previous October 2005 record of 110,895, the company announced today. Based on the daily selling rate*, October sales declined 0.2 percent due to one additional selling day compared to last year.
Year-to-date, American Honda sales increased 2.5 percent to 1,308,319. Honda Division year-to-date sales increased 4.3 percent to 1,158,707.
Honda Division posted record October sales of 101,913, up 3.4 percent compared to last year. October records for individual models included the Odyssey with sales of 14,451, up 24.4 percent, and the Fit, with sales of 4,868, up 67.3 percent for the month. Sales of the Accord increased 25.8 percent to 30,936. Sales of the Civic increased 7.3 percent to 23,809. Honda Division total car sales increased 19.8 percent to 59,921.

BMW Group Reports 9.6 Percent Increase in October Sales
Year-to-Date Sales of BMW Group up 8.2 Percent
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported October sales of 26,821 vehicles, an increase of 9.6 percent over the 24,464 vehicles sold in October 2006. The BMW Group also increased its year-to-date sales volume to 275,094 vehicles, up 8.2 percent, compared to 254,297 vehicles in the same period of 2006.
BMW Brand Sales
Sales of BMW brand vehicles increased 12.6 percent in October for a total of 23,451 compared to 20,822 vehicles reported in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date BMW brand sales were up 8.6 percent, to 239,788 vehicles compared to 220,885 vehicles sold in the first ten months of 2006.
MINI Brand Sales
MINI USA reported October sales of 3,370 automobiles, down 7.5 percent from the 3,642 cars sold in October 2006. Year-to-date, the division reported sales of 35,306 automobiles, an increase of 5.7 percent, compared to the 33,412 cars reported in the first ten months of 2006.

Mercedes-Benz USA Records Best October Sales
Mercedes-Benz Sales Up 11 Percent for the Month
MONTVALE, N.J., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported its strongest month of the year and its best October on record with sales of 22,820 new vehicles, an increase of 10.8 percent over last October (20,598). This brings MBUSA's year-to-date sales to 203,085, a 2.8 percent increase over the same period in 2006 (197,599), setting an all-time record for the company.
Sales for the month of October were boosted by high consumer demand for the all-new 2008 C-Class which recorded a 102 percent increase over October 2006 (7,646 vs. 3,784). Behind the C-Class, the popular E-Class sedans and wagons recorded sales of 4,176. Strongest gains were made by the flagship CL-Class coupes which increased 224.5 percent (318 vs. 98). Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned program, MBUSA sold 3,971 vehicles in October, an increase of 3.5 over October 2006, bringing the year-to-date total to 43,224 units, a 9.1 percent increase over year-to- date 2006.

Toyota Reports October Sales
TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported best-ever October sales of 197,592 vehicles, an increase of 0.5 percent over last October.
"Showroom traffic was strongest from the Midwest through the Gulf States," said Jim Lentz, TMS executive vice president. "In Southern California, wildfires crimped a key market already impacted by the housing downturn."
The Toyota Division posted best-ever October sales of 172,473, an increase of 0.5 percent over the year-ago month. The Lexus Division reported best-ever October sales of 25,119 units, an increase of 0.6 percent.
Toyota Division
Toyota Division passenger cars recorded best-ever October sales of 95,241 units. Passenger car sales were led by Camry, which posted October sales of 33,728, a decrease of 4.1 percent from the same period last year. Camry Hybrid reported sales of 3,511 units in October, up 20 percent from October 2006. The Prius hybrid gas-electric mid-size sedan posted best-ever October sales of 13,158, an increase of 44.9 percent over last October. Corolla reported October sales of 25,815 units, an increase of 0.7 percent over the year-ago month.
Toyota Division light truck sales were up 3.1 percent, with best-ever October sales of 77,232 units. Light truck sales were led by the all-new Tundra full-size pickup with best-ever October sales of 17,868, an increase 71 percent over the year-ago month. The RAV4 compact sport utility vehicle reported best-ever October sales of 14,636, up 26.2 percent over the same period last year. 4Runner posted sales of 7,196, an increase of 10.8 percent. Scion posted October sales of 10,962 units. The tC sports coupe led the way with October sales of 4,437 units. The xB urban utility vehicle posted best-ever October sales of 4,375 units, an increase of 6.2 percent over last October.
Lexus Division
Lexus passenger cars reported best-ever October sales of 15,017 units, an increase of 0.5 percent over October 2006. Passenger car sales were led by the ES 350 luxury sedan with best-ever October sales of 6,516 units. The all-new LS 460/460 L and LS 600h L luxury sedans reported combined sales of 2,951, an increase of 35.3 percent over last October. The LS 600h L hybrid luxury sedan posted sales of 175 units for the month.
Lexus Division light trucks reported October sales totaling 10,102 units, an increase of 0.8 percent over the year-ago month. The RX 350 and RX 400h posted combined October sales of 7,940 units, up 5.3 percent. The RX 400h hybrid luxury utility vehicle reported sales of 1,392 units for the month, an increase of eight percent.
TMS Hybrids
TMS calendar-year-to-date hybrid sales totaled 227,090 units, an increase of 42 percent over the same period last year. In October, TMS posted sales of 18,903 hybrid vehicles, up 25 percent over last October. Toyota Division posted sales of 17,265 hybrids, up 26 percent over October 2006. Lexus Division posted sales of 1,638 hybrids, an increase of 11 percent over last October.
There were 26 selling days this month, as compared to 25 selling days last October.

DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ford Motor Company's (NYSE:F) all-new crossovers continued outpacing the competition in October, achieving their highest monthly sales to date.
Combined sales of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury crossover vehicles in October were 36,852, up 145 percent compared with a year ago. Year-to-date through October, crossover vehicles were up 59 percent, the largest increase of any major manufacturer.
Ford Edge sales were 14,133 and Lincoln MKX sales were 3,787. Over the last six months, the Ford Edge has been the top-selling mid-size crossover vehicle in the U.S. The redesigned Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner crossovers posted higher sales than a year ago. Escape sales were 12,174, up 27 percent. Mariner sales were 2,554, up 19 percent.
"Our new and redesigned crossovers continue to surprise and delight customers, demonstrating that Ford is building more products people really want," said Mark Fields, president, The Americas. In October, Lincoln continued winning. October marked the 13th straight month of higher sales for the premium brand. The month's sales totaled 10,229, up 17 percent compared with a year ago, with retail sales up even more - 38 percent. Lincoln's next new product will debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show later this month.
The company's mid-size sedans also contributed to the strong retail showing. Total sales for the Ford Fusion were up 13 percent, Mercury Milan 45 percent, and Lincoln MKZ 29 percent.
Land Rover dealers reported record October sales of 4,237, up 6 percent.
In October, Ford reduced sales to daily rental companies by 12,000 units, a 38 percent decline compared with last October. Year-to-date, Ford sales to daily rental companies were 142,000 units lower than the same period a year ago, reflecting planned reductions.

In the second half of 2007, the company plans to produce 1,282,000 vehicles in North America, an increase of 2,000 vehicles from the plan announced on Sept. 4. Third-quarter actual vehicle production was 637,000 units, a reduction of 3,000 vehicles from the previously announced plan. Fourth-quarter estimated production is 645,000 units, an increase of 5,000 vehicles from the previously announced plan.

Volvo Cars Sales Report for October in North America
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) reports sales of 7,771 units in the United States* for the month, representing a decrease of 7.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Overall in North America (United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico), Volvo sales were down 8.1 percent for the month, with 8,452 units sold. October sales in Canada and Mexico were 433 units (down 26.4 percent) and 248 units (up 14.3 percent) respectively.

Audi Reports Sales Increase for October
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Audi of America, Inc. today announced that sales for the month of October totaled 7,421 vehicles. These figures represent a 15.4% increase over last year's figures, resulting in the best October ever. To date, Audi has sold 75,900 vehicles in 2007, a 10% increase over the previous year.
Several key markets recorded significant increases, including New York (+24.3%), Miami (+19.8%) and Los Angeles (+22.9%).
Audi Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) sales also are up for the year. Compared with last year's figures, October CPO sales came to 2,202 units, an increase of 17%. To date, CPO sales for 2007 are tracking at 21,810, an increase of 5.3%.
