According to a report on eMercedesBenz.com, the GLK will be about 4,575 mm long, roughly 1,725 millimetres wide and around 1,800 mm tall, and will ride on a 2,770-mm wheelbase; in other words, very close in size to the BMW X3.

Predictably enough, the styling echoes that of the mid-size ML Class and the larger, seven-seat GL-Class, but at about seven-eighths scale.

While it's attractive, its only fault looks-wise might be a passing resemblance to the outgoing Toyota Highlander in the front, and to the Jeep grand Cherokee in the rear.

The better part of the GLK's underthings will come from the new-for-2008 C-Class sedan.
