One of the best question ever! Why is it that more Women don't love cars?
I think they do in a different way than men see it. Most women look at a car's value and see it as a way to judge the way a man can take care of them as a whole. That's why the guy in the BMW 7-series has some hot young thing next to him, while the guy in the beater Mercury is driving alone.
Since the beginning of time the auto has been the mans domain while the women’s domain was the house. Women where taught from the beginning of time that Men drive you around, men take care of maintenance problems and men pump your gas. The house work belongs to the woman while men take car of the garage work.
But then again according to a study a few weeks ago, 7 out of 10 people asked didn’t even know how to open their hoods. Lame!
I tell ya this, I am a car chick! I build my own cars. I love the smell of gas, and the garage is my domain. Unfortunately, I have to share with the Boyfriend but we understand each others passion for cars. If I ever have a little girl, she will learn just the same. I’ve worked on my guy friends cars before because they are too scarred to do things. I’ve built CRX for racing, I’ve had off-roading mini-truck, I’ve had a full built VW golf for show, I’ve had a 76 Gremlin rebuilt, I’ve have a 71 Beetle, and right now I’m currently playing with a 06 MINI cooper for track and rally. I also work in the auto industry. There needs to be more girls like me. If your BF builds it for you, you’re not a car person; real car people build their own cars. Just my 2 cents.
