Are you asking a question or providing an answer? Depending on the particular application, that definition is right. I would say (if it's on a newer style car/truck) "A housing containing butterfly valve to regulate the airflow through the intake manifold. Used to govern the AMOUNT/VOLUME of air allowed into each cylinder. The computer would provide the right ratio by using inputs from the various sensors to determine how much fuel to inject into the cylinder.

I think you need to take a valium savage sam. I know you read my other comment about being a service advisor and how not everyone knows the terminology when they bring their ride into a service department. You, obviously, do. I appreciate your clarification of what things help CONTROL the Throttle Body. I was just trying to post some clear, concise definitions for certain functions and auto parts that I encountered on the web. They came directly from About.com. That little addendum was left off of my earlier post.

Was my response rude to you? If so I apologize. I didn't mean it to be. Why do I need to take a valium? I just found this site and I'm being told to take dope? WTF?
