Mercedes-Benz Reports 19,589 New Vehicle Sales for June
MBUSA Records Best First Half-Year Sales On Record
MONTVALE, N.J., July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported sales of 19,589 new vehicles for June 2007, bringing the total for the first half of the year to 118,240 units, a 2.9 percent increase over the first half of last year, marking the best first-half sales in the company's history.
Highlights for the month include a 12.4 percent increase (4,776 vs. 4,250 units) in sales for the company's volume-leading C-Class. The retail launch of the all-new 2008 C-Class is scheduled for early August. The high-end luxury CL-Class coupe also recorded impressive gains with a 322.2 percent (266 vs. 63 units) jump in sales compared to June of last year. Other highlights for the month include a 24.9 percent increase for the CLK-Class coupes and cabriolets (1,170 vs. 937 units).
Compared to the first-half of 2006, the same period this year marked increases across the Mercedes-Benz portfolio, from the gateway to the brand - the C-Class - which recorded a 20.9 percent gain (27,328 vs. 22,596 units), to the highly acclaimed E-Class which rose 7.4 percent (22,246 vs. 20,720 units). Mercedes-Benz's light truck offerings posted a year-to-date increase of 15.6 percent, from 29,540 SUVs sold in the first six months of 2006 to 34,154 SUVs sold in the same period 2007.
Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned program, MBUSA marked an 11 percent increase for June sales with 4,703 vehicles sold, bringing year-to-date sales to a total of 26,058 units, an increase of 13.8 percent over the same period in 2006.
