i forgot to add...... it seems, at least in my shoes, that it is just the top that is cracking. it is possible to get just the top replacement plastic for $99 plus shipping (3.99 i think). go to either performance4trucks.com or stylintrucks.com (www. for both)idk how much it is to install, but if you go to advanced auto and get a haynes manual, you can do it yourself for a grand total of just over $130.00. it might not look as good as it did when you got it, but unless your trying to keep it as a show truck, you really can't tell a difference and it is well worth the money.

I own a 2003 Dodgr Ram 1500, not only has the lower dash, drink hold, broke and fell out, the ash tray as well. the fronts are glued on.
The biggest problem is the fuse box caought on fire. First the electric light came on ,abs brake light, and the check engine light all at the same time. The horn honked, lights flashed one at a time, as ththis sequence of events were in progress, i noticed smoke under the hood, I finally cut the battery cable to stop it from further damage. I took it in to our loacl dealership,Patterson Dodge in Wichita Falls,Texas. I called the Dodge Rep to come and look at the truck, needless to say he didn't keep the appointment, but came after the repair work was done. He told me it wasn't their fault. I know this isn't the only Dodge to have this problem. They replaced the fuse box and wireing harnes for$2984.44. I paid them and they brought the truck around to me. As I was driving away I noticed the check enginelight was still on, returned with  CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM? Then i find out the hood latch is broken, not thier fault.I think that would be the first thing on thier list when it came in if they had not broken it.
Now the AC doesn't work, the wireing isn't even to a live fuse. I took it to another professional, and he tells me it isn't the right fuse box for the truck.
The truck stalls the same lights come on,I have to turn the truck off and restart it. No ac and you can hear other things under the hood running when it's off. Wonder when it will start on fire again.
