Nissan Opens Door to Fuel-Cell With New Fleet Vehicle

For those of you who thought that the fuel cell would be the propulsion technology of the future, well, the future is now!
Or at least coming soon. According to Fuel Cells Today, Nissan Motor Co. has delivered fuel-cell powered vehicles to a fleet of chauffeur-driven cars for hire. The SUVs, based on Nissan' X-TRAIL, is a result of Nissan’s Green Program 2010 which calls for the practical use of fuel cell vehicles so that consumers can experience their performance and benefits.
Our take? Sigh. Once again, a Japanese car manufacturer has beaten the Detroit 2.5 to the release of a technological innovation. Shouldn’t America’s best, GM, Ford, and Chrysler be getting involved, too?
