Understand something:

Not only is the Avalanche an approved copy of the Ridgeline (GM doesn't just buy engines from Honda) but 53 years ago, a younger Soichiro Honda --in a gesture of gratitude to his hospitable Detroit executive hosts in the course of a thrilling evening in New Orleans-- sketched an engine design that he felt reflected the nickname of the evening's locale, "The Big Easy."

Soichiro's appreciative American friends renamed "The Big Easy" as the "The Small Block."

Am I unaware of the ridgeline being sold outside the US prior to this past year?  Avalanches have been produced since 2002 and its a copy of the ridgeline?  I hope you guys are joking around, but I know in this part of the world the ridgeline copied the avalanche.

Oh and if honda would actually design a complete car/truck/SUV that was attractive all the way around I would buy one.  But unfortunately I have never seen a honda I truely wanted to buy.  If the exterior is beautiful, the interior is aweful and vise versa.  As for the ridgline ... I see it as aweful all the way around stylewise.  I like the functionality, but I would never buy a vehicle that sacrifices good looks for an extra storage compartment.

Geee, the Chevy Avalanche was around long before that thing the Ridgeline was ever created.
I like trucks, and I don't care what anyone says, it will NEVER be a truck to me. Nor would I EVER buy one. The Chevy Avalanche IS a real truck, and far superior to that thing called the Ridgeline!

ridgelines are definetly not coo one bit. This truck will disappear soon enough. Too expensive, im not saying its not good for what it does, but its UGS and like 10 G more than any other comparable truck in its class. Why buy a honda truck when you can get a toyota for cheaper ?

Any "truck" that is based on the platform of a minivan, is NOT a REAL TRUCK. Honda is a lowering the value of real truck everywhere buy trying to put that thing in the same class.  As for it being the basis for the Avalanche, how could that be when the Avalanche came out before the ridgeline?

Grow up you idiot! The ridgeline sucks period.  No wonder you "aint got hoes," girls want a boy who drives a ridgeline, they want a real man who drives a REAL truck.  Anyone who talks like you do and drives a ridgeline must be a homo!

I agree with silverado_06: You ARE an idiot, and the Ridgeline sucks, period. It is a freakin' mini van with a bed. Honda COPIED the Avalanche.  Honda could create a REAL truck, it attempted quite poorly at trying to copy a real truck.

My last two trucks were a pile of CRAP and cost me an arm and a leg to maintain.  I've had my Ridgeline for 43,000 enjoyable miles and have only changed the oil and some other fluids.

I LOVE this truck.  Who gives a *** what it looks like.  It does the job for me.  I use it as a truck every weekend and have absolutely no complaints.  The Avalanches look cool but I sure wouldn't want a flimsy hatchway between my truck payload and me.  The Ridgeline has extra steel between the truck bed and the passenger compartment so you don't get squashed like a bug in an accident.
I get great gas milage and the ride is comfortable and all I can say is that those who don't think it is a real truck should get off their asses and drive one.
